Pierre,

I missed this display, and the one a week later due to weather.

This multi-layered aurora is gorgeous.

)) Sun's been quite active recently, maybe we'll get some more...

Hey Shane,

Thanks again!! Glad you like it. For this shot, I used an ISO of 800 and the lens at f2.8 so I suppose that helped bring out more background stars. My only wish was that the aurora would have been brighter so that I could have taken the pictures at ISO 400 or maybe even ISO 200 (like you did last November). Ah well... it was still a beautiful aurora, I guess I can't get too picky ;o)

This is the aurora I missed. It just didn't seem to do anything much at our place. I know you were hoping for dark skies that night, but, this display look like it was wonderful.

You're so lucky!
I even designed the lighting for a play "Terra Nova" where I had to create an Aurora that grew more violent as the play progressed.

...and I've still not SEEN one. :(

Oh, this is so beautiful.

Hi Pierre,

Beautiful shot! I love the splotchness of the display with the various colours. It's new art / abstract rolled into one.

Nice dark (background) sky you had there. I would think the star field in the background should normally require a longer exposure time. And to think you were going there for dark skys to test out the camera! Natures little present awaited you ;o)
