Hey Antonia, ISO 100 for sure which makes life easier in the post processing, but sometimes there's no way but to use a higher one especially when there's no tripod. Thanks very much for the nice comment!

....one more thing. Do you have a favorite ISO for these moody, cloudy days?

  0

Antonia BauerleinSehnert   {K:30599} 5/30/2005
Ringside seat! It's just like a show, that lake and sky -- you have all the fun when it comes to those skies. Is it ever sunny? This is just right in BW -- nicely composed and perfectly toned IMHO. Antonia

This is not just an excellent image for a talented photographer , but there is a deep philosophy behind your photos dear Fadel !!
I could feel it in all your work !!
such this empty lonely chair facing an endless horizon , the glorious dramatic sky , the dark mysterious area in the right side , the choice of B&W or burnable sepia tones in all your photos atract me & push me to meditate in this very unique world of your photos !!
Thank you so much my dear for adding me to your friends list , it's a great pleasure to me ,I was in a three weeks vacation & wasn't informed by UF about it , I didn't get any mail telling me that , just seen your name on viewing my friends list & was a pleasant surprise waiting me on my return !
Best regards.

Your vision and talent showcased once more in this incredible B/W with superb tonal range. A simple scene yet your ability to infuse it with life and provoke contemplation in making us look at the basics in a whole new way are truly unsurpassed Fadel. (Ummm, your bio-amateur?? hardly, your pic-what a cutie :-) )

Fadel you talent is simply amazing and you seem to be a master with the wide angle lens. The centered compostion adds to the feeling of aloneness. Excellent work.

Gaja Snover   {K:4462} 5/21/2005
This is really interesting, sort of absurd, like the fake chair is on stage in the middle of the dramatic landscape. Nice contrast!

Richard Dakin   {K:12915} 5/20/2005
Nice work again Fadel. This looks almost "hopeful" with that sad chair looking out towards the water. Sorry, I'm running out of comments for your work.

Fadel, another outstanding shot.

I just noticed that you've got a wider zoom. I was just thinking the other day that a shorter focal length would yield some really nice results.

You haven't disappointed.

;o)

Really good stuff and always looking forward to it.

As an aside, I don't know if you've considered it... but making some of these images available for prints might be something too look into.

I'm still just in a learning/snap shot phase and wouldn't know where to point you towards. But I'm sure there are some on the site that earn their living from their talent. I honestly think your work is very unique and could at the very least get some recognition from magazines and/or other media.

All the best.

Hey - I was just reading that really long bio of yours (hee hee) and I think it's time to update that - no one will believe it for a second... :)

Fadel J Fadel J   {K:13974} 5/20/2005
Hey Cheryl, the wide angle gives totally different dimension and scale to close objects, and that creates a big impact I guess because that's not how we're used to see things with our eyes. it's really interesting and I love it. So I guess to answer your question, it's the lens :)

Fadel J Fadel J   {K:13974} 5/20/2005
Hey Andre, actually I was walking on the beach looking for a dead bird when I saw this, I wish it was mine, thanks very much for the lovely comment :)

Hi Fadel,

I can image how mediocre this picture may look without your awesome treatment ;-)

It's marvelous to see what you have in mind when shooting pictures. other guys wouldn't take this picture as they don't have the skill to make this image so special.

wow!

Best wishes,

When it comes to low angle just point your finger to Fadel, that?s your specialty ,excellent perspective and composed elements, I like the lonely chair its a sign of two things a good season on its way or abandoned place due to dramatic weather, certainly an attractive capture. Saeed

Life is a beach Fadel... I hope this isn't the raft you are going to use to escape the island.. You might consider just emailing the coast guard,,

Sory, couldn't resist.

Looks like a lonely chair - it needs the warmth of the sun to bring it to life. I always like the angle of your shots - is that the lens or you (or both)? They are so intriguing - it's very involving. Another great shot Fadel!
