Blinking eck David, this is just incredible - as is the lens you are using lol
Superb capture, maybe you ought to change your aftershave and it will stay around a second or two longer ;-)
Best wishes, Steve

Ha yes it did defrost before time Armando :) I have no idea what it is... "I am not an entomologist..... " :0 I always say that the day I start identifying insects is the day I get out of insect photography :) I'll get some one at work to have a look. And its a great action shot of the bee as well Armando.

Hi Arwa Its some kind of rare fly. No idea about how long dragonflies live. Will check with someone at work. As for removing the background, I normally would but in this case I actually really like it.

Well for a start I manually focus by setting the lens at a particular focus point and then use slight forward and backwards body movement to do the focusing. Try it it really works.. Dont trust autofocus and to be honest at this magnification autofocus doesnt work!

Hi Ben I use the same two studio flashlights that I use to take peoples portraits. Just move them a bit closer ;)

WOW! That?s an awesome moment! a beautiful bug, never imagined I?ll ever say those words, pretty bug! What kind of bugs is this? and I was wondering how many days dose a dragon fly live? I?ve gone back to the old spot and my trusted half tamed dragon fly is still there! ;) Theres one suggestion, and its to crop the right side of the image and maybe over expose all the background in photoshop so it would blind more with the background

Wow, that's amazing. How do you manage to get them so sharp and so close? I love your portfolio. Cheers, Ann.

You have everything from the front leg to the head in sharp focus, almost down to each little hair. Maybe it's the 1Ds, I don't know. But from releasing the background to almost an abstraction, to the detail on the insect, it's a great macro photo.
