I like the effect of the blur to the whole picture with the exclusion of the main part of the bird, very effective. Alison

James,

I went back and looked and had typed the shutter speed wrong, it was taken at 1/125@5.6. The ISO was 500. Thanks for the comment and I will keep trying!

Nice. Fantastic "pose" with her wings forming a nice shroud. It is a bit soft, but quite impressive for 1/15! What ISO were you using? I've gotten great results at ISO 800 and then running the image through Noise Ninja. Even without the noise filter, I think I'd prefer a slightly noisy, but sharp, image over a blurry one. Keep trying --- I'm sure you'll succeed.

Absolutely amazing capture. What's even more amazing is you got this at the focal length and shutter speed listed. That called for some very precise panning and timing. I am sooo.. impressed with your bird photos and your skills with the camera. Not to mention the patience it takes to get these shots.

How many shots does ot take to achieve this? Great seeing. The motion blurr in the wings is terrific, contrasts with the aged looking head.
Keep it up Darlene.
