Just spotted this on the front page - great to see it there. I like the contrasting textures, the sharp shadow and the repeating shapes. In fact, the more I look at it the more complex it gets.

some say this and others that it is described in so many ways. it looks to me a "picture is a world in itself and that has the potential of both male and female. this picture is having many personalities to it like an orcherstra unit.

this one has alot to do with the composition, it is like a projection of a certain object into alot of directions, and one of the projections exposed to the light but still can't see the real object, its symbolic aspect exceeds its excellency
ofcourse the vivid color and the textures play some role, but the composition is unbelievable, congrats 7++

I call you Princess Playground from now.

This series is outstanding. I love the shape, shadow and lines in this one. I'm afraid I'm hopelessly behind on your wonderful collection here, so I hope you won't mind my jumping in on my favorites. Have you considered a montage with these? I was just sitting back looking at your page and taking in the abstracts as a group and they really do look fantastic together! You are a master at this. Antonia

Hi Dirck! Yes i also had such crop in mind first and was trying that. But i wanted to have the two buttoms there - just a stomach feeling... But i can see and understand your point! Thanks for honest words, and you know i appreciate ;)))

51 comments! impossible to read them. it's not only me who loves your pics :)

in the thumb it's a pure abstract, an abstract of a feminine body. in large it becomes very concrete with all these traces of use, but it remains a perfect abstract.

  0

Dirck DuFlon   {K:35779} 5/27/2005
This is wonderful, Jeanette! The incomplete circle of the hole, echoed by the incomplete circle or light made by it - a little less 'abstract' than some of the others because we can identify the wear on the paint and the edge of the wood... I also find a very satisfying composition by cropping off the right 1/4 of the image (to exclude the larger button and have less gray) - just another option! :)

Great combination of straight angles, lines, circles and arches. I like the how you added different colour and texture with the "roof", it does not match the bold colours of the smoothness or anything else. But your perspective makes it all work in a great fluid way!!! Well done Jeanette!! -- Cheers, Rafael

Jeanette,
i like the optical illusion effect here. Different parts of the image jump out as I look at it and my mind is pleasantly confused. You got the right composition to make this interesting effect!

One of the cool things about your abstracts, is that when you look at the thumbnail, the objects always look crisp and pristine.....and upon opening the image, we are shown the scratches, blemishes, and dents. It's almost like we get treated to two different images! Your style is unmistakable, and "Best in Class". Rock on.

I think I prefer the other shots to this one...this one shows the wear on the object...prefer the flat abstract colors. But the one I really like is the new image in you profile...excellent composition, detail and textures...well done
