Thank you Carol this is the jewel in my garden, problem is it has only one flower a year and has to be taken in situ. I would dearly love to photograph it inside under controlled conditions, but it would be a shame to remove it from the tree

Thank you for your detailed comments Angelo, the image is quite sharp, I deliberately softened the whole image to give a feeling of etherealness. In saying that having had my Nikon for over a year I still have not use RAW or TIFF formats which I will try
Kind regards

Well spotted I softened the whole shot and tried to give it a glow. Thanks for your comments Petal

WOW great macro!!! Super colors, excellent shallow DOF, detail and crop/composition... well captured!! BTW did you soften the petals, the way they are it gives the shot a nice almost romantic touch...!!

I love the way you placed emphasis on the center of this unusual flower.
Amazing detail and beautiful work!

Stunningly beautiful flower, Cliff. You have captured the colours and delicate details really well.

A smaller apperture may have helped, with an increased DOF, so more of the stamen could be sharp.

Also, the JPEG lossy compression does not do this beautiful image many favours, in the white areas... Maybe a higher-quality setting?
