About We wanderers, ever seeking the lonelier way, begin no day where we have ended another day; and no sunrise finds us where sunset left us.

Even while the earth sleeps we travel. We are the seeds of the tenacious plant, and it is in our ripeness and our fullness of heart that we are given to the wind and are scattered
Brief were my days among you, and briefer still the words I have spoken.

But should my voice fade in your ears, and my love vanish in your memory, then I will come again,

And with a richer heart and lips more yielding to the spirit will I speak.

Yea, I shall return with the tide,

(The Prophet ~ Khalil Gibran)

I like this image modified after Bart's suggestion. I'd perhaps also like to see less of the boat on the right: the way it is, it looks like there's a bit of the image chopped off. I do like the building on the shore, though.

I like it much better. Now if I was going to make another suggestion it would be to remember the "rule of thirds" and crop the photo so that the boats are in the top third; the water in the middle third and the vegetation in the last third. Now there is too much sky and it looks as if you have cloned it from the bottom and too many dotted clouds in top...distracting. (I am a hard taskmaster...huh?) :) Katherine

Katherine I must say your advice is very creative and could give the image another dimension. I have modified the pic as per your advice. Let me know what you think?

By the way the reason I had originally left the ancient building in the background was because it depicts the ending of everything. It used to be a glorious sitting place for the royal Moghuls of the sub continent. They used to sit here and enjoy the River Ravi. Now nothing is left except a barren dilapidated building that nobody wants to go. Everything has to come to an end.......hence the farewell.

Not at all Bart. Actually I look for all the advice I can get. I like it a a lot too as a matter of fact I think its more balanced now. However, still have some concerns about the foreground dried branches. Am wondering whether I should clone them out or not.
By the way If you remember we got off to a wrong foot a few years ago when I commented on your Taj Mahal pic on PN and you thought I was somebody else trying to disturb your ratings @lol. I hope you have put all that behind. Glad you stopped over and gave your valuable advice.

Best Regards,

Saqib Zulfiqar

Thank you Bart for your visit and valuable advice. Am attaching the edition version. Do you think it looks better now?

Straighten the horizon and crop some off the top and bottom, and I think this would make a fabulous landscape. Maybe even a square crop would work. Beautiful color and scene!

Beautiful image and words. When I went back to it the second time I realized that I would prefer the photo w/o the building in the background. That the simple poetry of your words should mirror the simple image of the water and the boats. The rest seems (to me) a distraction. Nice job.
