Going...

I'm in a NY state of mind...

The dark side...

Still singing...???

I want to hang out with my friends a bit longer...

Stars...

Jag light...

I feel lonely, lololololonely...

Wired...

Oops... missed...!!!

Ok Petal. This is what I mean. I assume you have your camera set up for the highest resolution and highest JPEG quality it allows (Something like Superfine on my Ixus 400).

Then you put it on the computer and open it with a photo editing program (Photoshop), edit the image (crop, levels, the basics). When you are happy with the way it looks, you duplicate it, resize it, sharpen it, then "Save as JPEG...".

At this point, it should prompt you for a JPEG quality setting.

I would recommend selecting the highest setting that gives you a file which meets the UF upload limit. This will give you the least amount of detail loss in the pic.

Hope that clears it ;)

Hi Angelo,
Thank you for posting such helpful comments, but please could you elaborate on this one..?? Do you mean the camera compression... (that one is set to super fine, so the least compression possible, but it's only a 2 MP cam... so the possibility of enlarging the pic. is very limited...)or the uploading JPEG... (which in its turn is limited by upload size...).. ;-D??!!

Beautiful B&W flower, Petal.

I think it is suffering from too small a JPEG setting.

Flowers within a flower indeed! Lovely composition Petal... Good conversion to B&W too! I still am amazed by the level of detail you extract from that little camera of yours!

Well done...
