Hi Larry. This is a good capture. A couple of suggestions though. Try doing a vertical crop instead of horizontal as this will add more impact. Also increase your shutter speed which will assist in keeping the feathers more crisp and also lower the white areas across the birds head and back.
Birds are always difficult to photograph especially when in action, but you have done really well here.

Hey guy...don't worry about being behind..I've been gone for a week..have 1000 photos to go through and lots of comments to catch up on...but it's all fun...I have a pretty good hummingbird capture I'll post later this week

Weweeee Larry, that is cool. Right place, right time as they say. This sure surpasses my Swift shot as you could not have predicted this happening. Fast reflexes and confidence in camera and lens required here. All combined to catch an awesome image. My highest compliments.

PS Would have got to it eventually. I'm so far behind and struggling to cope with the other chores to be done. 2 days at Silverstone last weekend didn't help. Nearly 400 shots kept and numerous people wanting sets takes up time.
