About Yup, The Moody Blues* are associated with Birmingham - so was Winston C., who replaced Birmingham's own Neville Chamberlain after the outbreak of World War II.

(*You might give your age away if you get the connection between that and the title of the snap!)

This is a poster taken a few miles away from Brum, at Bridgnorth's famous Severn Valley Railway station.

Hi, Ken -

Yes, I think everyone has reservations about Churchill. But for the outbreak of war, he would probably have never got anywhere near the position and prestige he gained. My feelings are more for Neville Chamberlain, vilified for the 'peace in our time' proclamation - except by good historians, who know Britain could never have got the Empire's support for war the previous year. Still, what's gone is gone; we're all products of our own history and very little of it is ever really even loosely within our control.

Hi Len,

Nice poster. Very nice info as well.

Churchil, the right man to be in the ww2 scenario. we are really lucky that he took the stance of opposing Hitler and stood firmly. Other wise history would have been a very much different.

But what do I think of the man, - He called Gandhi a half naked magician, opposed every bit of giving freedom to India, promoted the 'black&tans' atrocities in Ireland, .........

I am sorry that I do not have great respect for the 'Little' Big man. But nevertheless, he was a remarkable leader in the hour of need for his own country.

regards,
ken.
