Thanks Jim, I always shoot what I see, and often make my husband turn around and go back, lol. Makes us late at times, but there you go. I too usually have a camera with me, whether it be mine or a borrow, I try not to miss what catches my eye. You are very positive about what you do, and that is fantastic. It would be hard to copy, wouldn't it, when everyone has a different style, I mean there is a uniqueness to most photos that I see, and can usually tell a shot from one person to that of another(those that I know in my club and friends)And you would lose a little of your individuality if you did that anyway I think....Interpretations of things too. You may see something that I don't in a particular subject and thats what makes your shot unique.... Thanks for replying to me. As you said, keep in touch and have a lovely day :) Liz Wallis.

Liz I so appreciate your comments. i have been in kind of a funk lately and went back to the archives for content. It really helps rejuvenate me when folks like you have positive things to say. Viewed you portfolio briefly and found several of your latest images very unique. Shoot to get what pleases you the like minded people will also enjoy your work. It doesn't do any good to copy some one else, jsut be yourself and most of all enjoy makeing images. I shoot to satisfy my likes, that means I ALWAYS carry some kind of a camera, and everthing I look at is fair game for the camera. after while you can be driving down the road 60 MPH, and bingo out of the corner of your eye you see it, complete with frame ! The image. GO BACK and shoot it.. never ever say to yourself you will do it on the way back, the light might be wrong , usually is, otherwise you will just blow it off. learn from others but be your self, Photography is capturing light, perfect light doesn't happen all the time, rain, clouds etc see to that. don't be afraid to get up in the morning EARLY, and go out and shoot. late afternoon and early evening is the other magic time . Some people miss 50% of the best shooting light by sleeping right through it ;-) Good luck and stay in touch jimc

John Any D70 images are from last year. I have switched my wildlife camera to the 20D and will soon be adding a longer lens, I now use a 70-200 2.8 with a 1.4 extender. The Great grey owl shots I got this spring sold me. I shot the D70 with a 300MM f4 nikon lens against the 20D and the real results are in the printing, That said, the nikon is a good camera and if you shoot raw and handle files corectly you can get stunning results. I started with a D100 and then got the D70, Some money became available and I had to give the 20D a go. I never turned back. A friend Ronnie Guabert posts here and does National Geographic quaility work with a D100 and a 300MM. Outsatnding. My personal move is to Canon, I use a Canon pro1 for all the scenic shots. well you ask my opinion, thats it If you care to ask other questions email me at n0exp@charter.net

Dear Jim, I've just found your excellent work during a web search for Canon 20d images, but I notice that you use the D70 as well. I'm a UK based wildlife photographer who is thinking of making the jump from Nikon to Canon. Looking at your images the D70 shots appear to be sharper. Would you mind giving me your honest opinion as to which camera you find best? Thanks, John Stokes www.wildlifeincamera.co.uk

Wow. It's great how you can see the grey/blue sheet of rain in the distance. I also love the colors of the sky and the grasses here. It really looks like the storm is on its way.
