Christy, I work with Lyle McCullough and he's told me alot about your stuff. This photo is my favorite so far of what I've seen. The photo has such a simple look and she looks so pure. Excellent lighting and use of light. Depth of field is perfect and the PS work is done with grace and is very tastful. You do amazing work and you inspire me to photograph more children. Thanks for letting me look. Regards, Damion Hamilton

Oh my, so gorgeous! I'm going through your portfolio because I'm considering buying the 50mm f/1.8 lens. I'm certainly leaning that way after viewing your work!

Thanks Christy...I had to come back and see this one again. Award winning stuff this image is!! I think maybe the trick with the D70 is to really expose for the highlights. Interesting that you went from a Canon to the Nikon. Not that the camera makes the great shots of course!! I visited your website too, awesome stuff....you've inspired me, thank you!!!!!!

Hi Paul...no, there wasn't any more detail in the dress in the original file. Thank you for the comment!

Christy, this is a masterpiece. Just a small question, is there more detail of the beautiful white skirt on the original picture before post-processing? I think it is a pity to lighten the details away.

Louise, I have heard some say that they prefer to use the S2 in studio and D70 outdoors...I have no idea as I have never used the S2. As for post processing, I had to lighten it as it was a very dark day, I very very slightly saturated...she had a naturally dark golden tan. Added a vignette of gaussian blur, added a touch of dodging and burning...hope that helps!

I don't give out 7s often but this one is so deserving. Wondering what you do for post processling? Softening, saturating?? Looks awesome whatever you are doing. I have the same camera and lens, but usually opt for the S2 as I get less quality from my D70. I must be doing something wrong!
