Hi Gayle, Iv'e been slack and haven't been uploading any photos lately. I am back into it and love the work you have done since.

This photo is so dreamy. Composition is great as is the blur. It is one that stands out.

Dear Gayle, I'm glad to hear you have a Holga coming your way. I like the Holga look myself but have yet to get into using one. This is a nice Holgaish type shot with your usual perfect composition. Almost looks like it could me a little model. Nice tribute to Hansi. I'll E soon.Take Care, Mark

Nice manual work. I say manual, because there are so many filters and plugins that'll do it. I think doing it your way gives it more legitimacy for lack of a better word.

hi, thanks for comment and info about your work at lighthouses back in the day...about 1980 i considered doing enough lighthouse shots from my WA state coast,Oregon and Cali to compile a book, but when i had the idea i worked at B.Dalton's bookseller and a beautiful lighthouse book arrived days later!...have always loved the solitude, sentinel qualities about them...Oregon has some very unique ones......regards,gayle

hi, no probs about asking questions as this is part of our learning process here!...i have never used photoshop, but from what i have heard from those who have used both, paintshop is easier to learn/use and not as expensive...you can quickly get good results with using a minimum of tools/filters such as contrast levels,saturation,black/white points, straighten horizons, blurs, soft focus, desaturation and converting to B/W with one click...i love it and think you would, too,if trying to choose...there are more advanced functions such as layers, but i haven't tried those thus far...kind of a rule of thumb with any editing program is that "less is more" unless going for some arty or abstract look...hope this info is helpful..

In the 70?s I worked summers in lighthouses up and down the coast in western British Columbia? I remember the places well, the isolation, the wild beauty, AND the eccentric lighthouse keepers, who seemed to be almost mythological figures, able to endure and revel in what seemed to me at the time unendurable loneliness ;-)?
To my eyes this shot has the mystery, the quintessential lighthouse ?atmosphere? . Beautiful work Gayle, and I?m sure a gift Hansi treasures?
Inspiring title also.

Regards, C

Thank you for dropping by!...always nice to hear from you,Arwa...hopefully he will not stay away too long as i will be venturing into holgaroids as soon as my newly won ebay holga camera arrives and his opinion would be most helpful to me...at least i can study his holga images if he doesn't remove them...

Hey Gayle - it is a little fuzzy - I hope Hansi doesn't get lost :-) I like it the light in the middle connects nicely to the idea of the lighthouse.
