Lovely subtle colours and delightful patterns in the barley and perfect interplay with the depth of focus. Pity you couldn't ask the grasshopper to turn his head... But the thing with serendipity is, you have to take it as it finds you! This is quite different from anything else I've seen you do!

Very difficult to do this without a Macro lens. I'm not too sure that people would know what it is if you hadn't titled it. Great barley though and i think the image would be strong enough without the creature.

Kevin, the barley is very nice, with the soft light, subtle movement and pleasing composition. The grasshopper is ok, but I would rather see a bit more detail in it. Not always possible I know. Overall a very nice photo.

Kevin, I really like this. I would think your title should of leaned more on the barley side as that is what I think is so stunning. The hopper adds a little charecter. My opinion of course. Marvelous capture.
