The best part of the day - it's worth the effort of getting out of bed early. Great colours in the sky, nicely balanced with the mist behind the house. Definately a better shot with the house as an anchor point, giving the scene scale and a sense of wonder at what it would be like to live there.

Excellent capture Angelo, most of of the people will like the capture of the mountain, but what I really like in here is the house :) It shows the glory of the mountain, the sizes work just fine in here, excellent capture. Hmm let me see .. is there enough space .. ohh yeah there is :) well done then :) Just kidding, simply perfect, Regards,

Mary,
I only just figured out this one. Was just messing about trying different things. In this case, first I selected the dark foreground using quick mask and the gradient tool. Next, Layer>New>Layer via Copy, then selected the new layer and Layer>Layer Style>Blending Options
I set the blending mode to Screen, opacity 100%, then selected "Color Overlay" with a Blend Mode of "Overlay", opacity 40% and a light yellowish colour (r:255, g:255, b:200)
Hope that wasn't too obscure :)

I like that you explained what you did. Someday, I'll learn how to do some of ths stuff. Anyway, I love the beautiful rich colours. The clouds and the rising mist look fabulous. The little cabin puts the size into perespective. Wouldn't have been the same without it. Teriffic. Mary

Ecotourism is still emerging in Brazil, Mark. It is no wonder not many people know about this National Park. I mean, the atitude of IBAMA (the environment agency) is to keep the roads in an awful state so that all those uncouth Brazilians don't come and spoil the park...
In fact, they frown upon the very term "ecotourism". Go figure...

I thought I was pretty familiar with Brazil but it's amazing to see all these places (well they're all kinda close to each other but still) I never knew about.. Another fantastic shot. the Little house really makes it. Very, very nice, Mark

Super shot!!! What a beautiful landscape!!! Love the mood, mist and sky!!! Great colors, PS work is excellent (if you didn't mention it no one would've noticed) and including that farmhouse 'makes' this shot even more interesting... well captured!!!!

Neil,
Thanks for the nice and considered comment. I can see what you mean. I have about 3 or 4 alternative shots from this location but settled for this one. I may upload one of the other ones later.
I liked this composition because I felt the house at bottom right was a great anchor point.
There isn't much to the right except more of the same. No big ugly factories, thank God!

Hi Angelo, nice work with very nice layering in the clouds. When i look at it thoughi keep wanting to see more, especially to the right. I get the feeling this is part of a huge expanse and due to restrictions of lens etc i can only see so much. Of course maybe there was a big factory or something horrible like that jus out of the frame :) Happenend to one of my images once, got really criticised because of the crop although i had shown everything possible. I guess you would have had to have been there to aprreciate it. I like it. Nice stuff.
Best wishes from Switzerland Neil

Good job with the layering Angelo, it's a terrific landscape, atmosphere from the mist, a splash of colour from the small house, which also gives scale and allows great depth into the scene with a wonderful sky. Hard to fault.
