Sabra (or Tzabar) is the nickname given to Isreal born children. They are named after the cactus fruit, thorny on the outside and sweet on the inside. The thorny on the outside stands fast, the sweet on the inside (for Israel born children) is sometimes contested. The Sabra, the only sports car to be manufactured in Israel (1964) was given the same name-nickname. The Sabra and its family version, called the Sussita (after a mountain east of the Lake of Galilee) had a body made of fiberglass that tended to disintegrate on impact. It had, however, another weakness you would never guess unless unless I told you. It could not stand up to the camel. Not because the camel would obstruct its way, but because the camel could not resist the taste of fiberglass. The Sabra and several other oldies, to be posted as soon as possible, are part of a collection compiled by Stef. Wertheimer's son.
Sorry about the long "about", my dear friend Heifetz. I thought it was necessary and funny. Thank you for your very kind comment on my "Sabra" and my best to your G.F and to you. The item I sent you for her should arrive any day now. Best regards, Rafi
