A very Carol shot.
Side note - thanks for turning me onto IR filter photographs. Took my first shots with a B+W filter and they appear to be well received on UF. They work really great for waterfalls, especially since I discoved my filter is a +13 stop. (Git the tripod Paw!)

Very artistic work, the color palette you chose is well suited for this subject. A melancholic, touching photo. Probably worth a try in B&W, too, IMO

There is too much of that going one for sure. Carol this image have a tone that I find very pleasant, a bit subdued and earthy. easy on the eyes.

Wonderful find! The sky gives it a real sense of drama! Nice composition. I also like the changes that Mark made which makes the main subject pop out. This is a touching piece. It really has a deeper meaning that touches the present hardships of the farming family..it is getting harder and harder to make it by living off the land these days. I always love these jounalistic shots that capture early american families. Thanks for sharing it!

A sad and evocative image which is heightened even further by the conditions in which you made this image. But a goldmine for the adventerous photographer. I have made a darker copy of your image and please forgive me for taking liberties with your art. I just wonder what you think about the approach.

Subject matter like this has become increasingly difficult to portray without it having ties with previous works by any number of artists. A dab of journalism sure helps, but even there I can't associate it with anything else I've seen in the past. There is a sense of the tragic in this photograph. It's beautifully told, as if there were words. I see in the right side what looks like rolled up pieces of turf, or maybe they're just haystacks with tarp over them. So much effort and work and dreams. Tragic. A beautiful piece.

Well composed image, and very good timing. The overcast sky and dead/dormant foliage reinforce the mood of abandonment and decay very well.
