Yes thanks Carsten, I do think that's better and probably what Micky had in mind. I appreciate the efforts you went to with this image. I have a lot to learn!
Great scenery, very good the composition, a picture worth all efforts. I would agree with the other comment that a bit punch for the tones would not hurt. So, in PS there are always multiple ways to do it... I made a multiply blended layer mask selectively for the sky, and a soft light blended mask selectively for the forground, here 40% opacity. At last, instead of cutting the tonal range with levels I added small highlights with another mask, color dodge blending mode, with the soft brush. Do you like it ? Cheers Carsten
Certainly no offence taken, always willing to learn how to improve my photographs. While I'm not much of an expert at PS, I'll give your suggestions a go soon.
Hi Bruce,I see this one had not had any comments even though it has numerous views,I think the light looks a bit flat so the image does not have the impact to attract attention it deserves which is a pity because it is well composed and interesting and has good possibilities with a little enhancement....do you do much in PS I would suggest you darken the sky to create even more drama then lighten and saturate the colours of the forground...just a suggestion and no offence to your image:)Perhaps you are a purist and avoid P.S.Call me a bossy old Aunty if you wish:) Micky
