Dave,

Thanks! Those are single frames only. I believe the stars showed well even through the bright aurora thanks to the very dark, unpolluted skies of this site. This was taken 3 hours drive north of Ottawa (grey on the light pollution map bordering a black zone). On the most transparent nights there, I could glimpse 7.3 mag stars.

Great how you picked up Ursa Major in the background. Did you need to go the multiple exposure technique to show both the stars and also the corona?

Hi Shane,

Wow! Thanks for such a wonderful comment! I'm glad you enjoyed it so much. I'll consider sending it in to a few publications and see what happens.

P.S. You should do the same with your M31 shot too!!!

Thanks for the wonderful comments Petal! I'm glad you enjoyed this aurora photo. I sure had lots of fun shooting the auroras that night..... it was well worth the long trek out of town to be out under dark skies! :))

Hi Pierre,

As if your first Aurora panorama wasn't stunning enough, you've managed to top!! Simply stunning! You're not winning an EC (yet) doesn't mean you shouldn't! Holy cow... this would be hard to top! Enter this in SkyNews, SKyt and telescope, space weather and several others Pierre.... This will surely get recognition there!

WOW!!!!

Thank you David! I appreciate your comment. I've been shooting auroras for many years, but every time has something different to offer... This is what keeps me coming back to them :)

very beautiful. I have no idea how difficult it is to capture those lights but either way you did a great job
