Superb use of blurring to dramatize the speed of a barrel horse~! Very well done!!

The horse is a little dark, though. It might be my monitor or it might be something lost in your scan from film to digits...not sure.

I find that shooting dark horses with riders wearing bright colors can be really tough. There's this fine line between blowing out the colors and getting the horse and capture the colors but winding up with a blob of darkness for the horse.

I had a shot of cape buffalo posted here a few years back that gave me the same problem. I just couldn't get my scan to look anything at all like the print I held in my hands...Ahhhh...frustrating!

Nice shots, though. You've done a great job. Post more!!! I'm reliving my rodeo days vicariously through your photography!!! (The wife has forbidden me from anything other than my two quarter horses!! She even gets mad when I jump them....guess bulls are out of the question!!)
