About Taken at the Pacific Science Center in Seattle Washington. Not as clear as I would like, but a decent shot I think.

Angelo,

I really appreciate the feedback, the whole point of this site is to get exactly what you provided! Everyday I get excited about my progress in photography and I learn something new every day. This is a great community of individuals and again I appreciate your steps, input, and lesson!

Thank you,

Sean

Nice shot, Sean. The light was good and even, you composed it well, etc.

However, I agree with your assessment: it doesn's seem that "clear". By that I mean two things

1. Maybe it could be sharper. Did you use the Unsharp Mask filter on it after resizing to the final dimensions?

2. It seems ever so slightly over-exposed, especially around the yellow of the butterfly. If you shot in RAW mode, you can try adjusting that.

I hope you don't mind, but I've tried a couple of quick techniques in Photoshop on your photo.

First I selected the butterfly with the Magic Wand and created a blended layer in "Multiply" mode (70% opacity) to bring in some of the detail in the yellow areas.

Then I created a Levels adjustment layer and clicked "Auto" (that's the same as doing Auto Levels, but with the advantage you can switch it on and off and modify the values at any future stage). I also moved the midtone slider for RGB, Red and Blue channels, again to try and reduce the effects of overexposure.

Finally, I sugest a square crop to help concentrate attention on the butterfly, as I found the leaf on the left and the pink spot on the right foreground, a bit distracting.

Here are the results, and I really hope you don't mind me having tried this without your permission first.
