I like them both, but I like this one a little better. The sunset colors combined with the lights of the city at twilight make this one special. Congratulations on the BIP for the other one and thanks for your comment on my balloon picture.

Hi Jason,

This is truly spectacular! The colors are awesome, nothing like chrome film.
(haven't seen the digital shot for comparison)

Your composition is EXCELLENT*

Congrats on the front page coverage.

VERY nice work,
Lori :)

I like both, but prefer this one, even if after scansion velvia film takes this dominant magenta I also find in some of my shots; many congratulations

Looked at both, love them both for different reasons. The color in this is completely different but the detail is amazing. I love night shots, cityscapes, long exposure all day long. You are a talented shooter my friend, I have to take a look through your stuff when time permits.

Cheers,
-mm

I think I like this one better...at least I like the city portion better. It's a little murky in the digital shot. They are both wonderful shots however. The angle you chose is what makes it. The arching bridge drawing you in and framing the city...perfect.

megan

I looked back at the digital shot and compared it with this one and I've come to the conclusion.....that both are very beautiful! The colors in the film shot seem more saturated and the tones are a little different, but you did a great job on both of them (as always Jason!)

Hi Jason, I love the film version but being a Canon digital owner, I say that with great pain!!.... The Velvia colors are luxurious. Assuming you took them back to back in similar lighting, film eqpmnt also did better capturing far away details.

thanks Peta, i'll have to get the name of a decent place to get my films scanned and photos printed down there as the place i'm using at the moment will not have my business much longer due to a few @#%$ups of late

Oh you're making me miss slide film Jase...this is so excellent. I prefer this to your 20D version, mainly due to the time of day. The sky's colour is vibrant, and you've got great detail in the buildings. :)

Jason Mckeown Jason Mckeown   {K:22200} 7/27/2005
thanks for the comment Alessandro, the blur would be because of the compression of the photo, parts of this shot should also look blurred anyway with a 45sec exposure

Jason...I like them both but I really like this one a lot! I love the colors a great deal. You have captured it just at the right time to get the dusk and capture the lights of the city. What an excellent job! 7++++

Great perspective and composition, possibly it's slightly blurred (i don't know if because it's a freehand shot)?
However, a really beautiful shot!
