About

I know that a lot of you are waiting for me to return to my high colour images but for the next four days I am going to be tied to my camera with assignments. I should hopefully get back to the images that you like by next week, but until then you will have to put up with images from these works.

This particular image was from an assignment I had to do on a Blacksmith in the area. I purposely left the horizon crooked as I liked the perspective of it.

Enjoy!!

P.S. I will hopefully catch up with you all and your comments soon.

HI Luis. This image was from a shoot for the newspaper about the blacksmith. I didn't touch much in this image only brought up the blues and red a little. The rest of the result is purely due to in camera settings. I hope that helps.

I sometimes use a polarizer but I don't think I did on this occasion because of the shadow areas and the quick movements of the horses.

Fantastic picture! The focus on the horse is very good. I also love those colors. How do you achieve such an effect? Do you use any filters or do you work on PS?

The rope looks horizontal, the horse's legs look vertical so what's wrong with the horizon. It's a great composition which is enhanced by the shadow in the lower right section. Neat shot Judi.

I like it. It reminds me of years ago when we had horses. The ferrier would come and show them in the barnyard. It gave me a smile.

I love this one, I think that variety is always interesting anyway , but this is a great shot with lovely colours. Don't like the way the horse is looking at the man's backside though LOL

This is a particularly engaging shot if for no other reason than the horse's tolerant gaze. And hooray for the tilted horizon! Many people consider that the ultimate compositional transgression, but that ignores the fact that the effect (as here) can be deliberate and very effective.

Good luck,
--George

I love this! My daughter's boyfriend is a farrier (er- blacksmith) and it is something most people don't know anything about. I have tried to get some shots of him doing his work too, but haven't really gotten what I wanted. Love the big blue sky. I didn't try that angle! All your work is good, Judi- don't get stuck in just one kind of shot!

Its nice to see you have used the horse as the main subject and not the blacksmith...nice change around...great color but undecided about the shadow in the foreground.

Fantastic clarity and I must say....no one controls the colors like you do. The angle from below is very effectiva and the horse's bored look is priceless.
