This is a wonderful composition. The perspective really shows the height of the rock face. Great shot. It looks like iot is about to rain. MAry

nice on Rodger! i love this part of MN...so beautiful and different... this is a cool shot, and different from the typical split rock shots in that you shot from the water. must be a good place to kayak as well! great compo and tones here. cheers, todd

Wow - I found my way here after your comments on the Permaquid Pt. Light photo I posted. I just LOVE this shot - the clouds and impending storm is what makes the shot.
Where exactly is this lighthouse? I am unfamiliar with it. The Permaquid Point shots (yours and mine) are "pretty", but they are a cliche shot. This Split Rock one is VERY different - I like it a whole lot

What a wonderful place Rodger. Very brave of you to take your camera with you in the Kayak! I did it earlier this year in New Zealand and was nervous the entire time...but got some great shots thankfully.

Wonderful colors. There is a feeling of strength and security in this photo. Really nice...the blues in the sky add a very interesting twist to it.
