FANTASTIC, SCARY, CLEVER.......a shot like this could make me believe in ghosts. I'm very impressed by the creativity as well as the result

Ever heard of orbs? I have 2 photos that have orbs in 'em. But unfortunately they have no aesthetic value :^(

hi, yep, the house has specific spots within specific rooms with very noticeable colder temps...i also just had a strong feeling of another's presence there and my body reacted first with chills up my spine and goosebumps on my arms.....i thought i felt someone brush gently against my hair once and nearly dropped my camera..LOL...i would have been very p'off if i had dropped it and no entity would have wanted to deal with my wrath! bahahahaha...love the adrenaline rush of places like that...i used to ride my bike at sunset way out into the country to the cemeteries because it scared me,but thrilled me at the same time...spooky gayle! Thanks for comment...ya know i always appreciate your feedback!

Are you waxing poetic, or does that house really have a chilly spot? Strong work.

Eerie and mysterious, the tone really sets the atmosphere.

Is that a ghostly figure in the center of the room next to the open closet?

Spooky..well done!!

Nice going, Gayle! There's nothing to break the boredom, like a creepy abandoned house! Hopefully it was condemned, posted, and you were alone. I don't think you have to worry about your creative juices, as you offer us such a wide variety of subjects, moods, and visions! This is mysterious, and presented in the perfect sepia tone. Great work! ..Brad

Definitely creepy, Gayle. Has that ghostly figure behind the frosted glass shower door effect. The B/W works well but I kind of dig the sepia vintage tones. It meshes with the run-down condition of the room. The floor has a vaporous quality. Nice work.

This is fantastic, Gayle, very spooky. I like the color version, but it's the black and white version that really creeps me out! Very scary!

Hi Gayle, just got back from an unexpected weekend away...and I looked at my friends page, and the first thing it said was that there were 57 uploads, so I'm like noooooo, lol...and then I saw this alluring thumbnail and I opened it, and it's yours..:):) I like it, and I like it when I see people do new things, I think it inspires all of us to do the same...I like the tones, and the lines, the blur is interesting, yes eerie, like maybe there's someone there with you, but you don't see him, not with your eyes anyway but the camera does....ok too many PBS shows?? hahahaha...I like the title too very appropriate. The door that is open and the dark hallway adds to the eerie feeling, one wonders what's around the corner...I think it's great...:):)Linda

....OK, I got 3 words...are you ready? BLAIR - WITCH - PROJECT !! What do you think? That sucker's old already. We Remake it on High Def Video (peanuts) and get it played at the Sundance Film Festival. Sing with me - "We're in the money, we're in the money,...." Actually, your image is quite Spooky. I like it- has a very modern (but classic) look (aww, "the twister" comes in) Very good work , Mark PS. Don't get in a funk - your work is very good - come on now (W got his physical yesterday - is very healthy....see, don't you feel better already?)

hi and thanks for your empathetic comment/suggestions...no, haven't done the egg project and that could be fun.....maybe an eerie egg shot!..LOL..basically i struggle with wanting to post more journalistic shots with meaning vs. poetic moody dreamy shots conveying a different set of emotions...hope that makes sense..LOL..

Lovely ghost image - difficult to choose, think I prefer the color version. I like the curves in it, it's as if looking into an old mirror. /H

Hi Gayle.. very ghostly shot indeed. Think I like the b&w but I'm partial to b&w anyways. :)
Have a great weekend.

My honest critique: the edges of your selection for the blur are much too obvious. Feathering the selection might help.

Otherwise, fine. Looks like some fight scene out of DOOM :) (I haven't played that in a looong time, and that's what it used to look like anyways)

Wow that definately looks like you captured something ghostly

When I get in those moods - I go into the projects and see what ones I haven't done and try to do something there - it's different for me and usually will clear out the funk in my head... don't know if it will help, but it's fun to try. Did you do an Egg project yet? Those are great to be "different". :) Hope that helps.

Boo!...LOL..thanks...ever get in one of those moods where you find your shots boring,or just lacking something? well, that is where i am at and it doesn't help seeing sooooooo many great shots here and in mags that make me feel that i am soooooo far from that quality...something to work toward, tho' and guess i am leaning more toward images that are compelling in some way...sorry to go on,just in a funk photography-wise and now i am just taking up space writing about it!..LOL..

Spooky - hair raising on the back of the neck kind too! Well done on this shot Gayle. Just wonderful (in that creepy kind of way!). :)

All your shots are "compelling and unique." This one here is frightening as well. Toning is perfect. Overall it's extremely potent and effective.

Toshi  Toshi    {K:11924} 7/31/2005
Wow, I think it makes a big difference in B&W (in a good way!)
The tones make it look like from an old horror movie, and it still retains the sense of mysteriousness - makes you wonder what happened here.
Excellent work Gayle :)

Blended blur B/W version

Toshi  Toshi    {K:11924} 7/31/2005
Great, I'm curious to see how it would look in B&W :) I would think it would add an even more eerie atmosphere to it.

Thanks for the indepth comment!...i thought about doing a blend, but it is too hot here today and i got lazy!..LOL..if i do a B/W version, then i will do the blend...

Toshi  Toshi    {K:11924} 7/31/2005
This definately has an eerie and mysterious mood.
The overall tone works well as not to lead the eye to a certain part of the image but to view the image completely.
The blur is a nice touch, with a hint of a figure in it - it would look great if it were blended a bit more, seems a bit pronounced, but that's just my opinion :)
