Not bad....don't give up on the wildlife, I shoot allot of wildlife with my 70-200.
I think you have to keep trying and one day POW!!!! everything comes together.
If you wait......they will come !

Brandy don't get disheartened - this is a pretty good shot, it takes time to get used any camera and lense - Den with his very big lense took ages before he felt he had got a decent shot, whereas the one he has just posted of a weasel is excellent and that was a quick shot

Ok think of it this way if you are going to be shooting long distance set you camera up and leave it that way. But if you want to get a flower or something else that isn't at a dead run you have time to set it to macro mode. Did I say that right?

this was before any advice. actually the sad part is I had the camera braced on the window of the pickup and the turkey were just standing there to be photographed.
it was very cloudy and I think that slowed down the camera which I was shooting in auto as usual.
dont have time to reset when you see wildlife.
oh well some day.

Ok first were you wearing a bright red vest or hiding in a tree/bush? You have to sneak up on these guys. Wait what do I know about turkeys.. oh that's right I am one. Is this before or after my advice? Other then the fact that the buzzards wouldn't hold still there isn't anything wrong with the shot. They are in focus and that counts big in my book. Oh here is another trick if you want to switch between macro and normal you have to point the camera at something, either near or far then it will adjust into or out of the range you want. Make sense? NO - go try it you'll see.
