Unusual and very effective use of shadows to lead the eye into the photograph from the bottom, and the dark clouds do the same from the top providing a great sense of depth to the image.

Wonderful shadows here, Tim! Don't worry about the comments, I'm enjoying so much your great shots of country I've seen, but enhanced by your artistry. Dave.

Hi Tim, The way the clearance in the field allows for the perfect fit of the shadows. On it's own, that would already qualify as spectacularly timed, but in combination with the rest of the scenery, I might as well skip the timing, and settle on spectacular.
Thanks for your reply, Really appreciate your time and effort, very interesting reading. I'll reply later today or tomorrow.
Cheers,
Hugo

This seems to me somehow more "photographic" than some of your shots. For instance, I can't imagine a painting where the shadows of the trees alone would be shown like that, although I suppose there's no reason why they shouldn't be. I always think about this when I look at your shots, Tim, since I learned you often base your paintings on your photographs.
