About The pure simple forms attracted my eye to this corner of the cathedral.
On my last visit to Paris, an expert suggested I take may camera to the Basilica of Saint-Denis. The structure that defined the gothic style was begun in the 12th and completed in the 13th century. In addition to its unique place in architectural history, it is the burial site of French monarchs. (Ambient light; handheld; ISO 1600; 1/30 @ f/4; 35 mm)

Very good composition and tones. I really like the way you chose to end the stairs out of the frame on the left. It makes a great abstract.

All things considered, this is an astonishing image! I'll bet it would look just as excellent in b/w! Congratulations!

Someone recomended this shot for an award in the "Lines" project and I hav to agree. It's a shot that breathes so much discipline and such a great eye. With all this around you it would be so easy to either capture to much or to little but this in your case it's done to perfection. I would say that this is an image from a "thinking person" with a splendid result. The tonality is superb

Thanks, Linda. It is a challenge to keep up with evrybody's (mostly) good work. It is fun and instructive, though, and so I suppose we'll keep trying! ;-) --g

First thought was Hamlet and all of intrigue and moment's of that timeframe. Like how this all flows together.

Hi George,

as I'm a fan of geometry abstracts, this could be my favourite place ;-)
the differences in geometry and color is well seen and done. it gives the image some dimension. well done!

best wishes,
Thilo

Extraordinaria fotografia, Jorge. De una singular belleza. La contemplo largamente mientras oigo el formidable Aleluia de las Vespers de Rachmaninoff.
Un verdadero placer.
Felicitaciones,
Salvador

Antonio--The light is unmanipulated and quite natural, the result (I believe)of light coming through different windows or openings. Thanks . . . --g

the shot is outstanding as well the place of course; you composed it in a beatiful manner playing the line game excellently; I am just disturbed a bit only by the slight different cast of the light (which can be natural, of course) in the two different zones photographed: near steps and far columns and wall
