About Stitch of three photographs.

I had delusions that on this trip I could take photos of Monument Valley in the late afternoon and get a shot like Pat's.

Needless to say I did it all wrong, and without any clouds in the sky had to give up on the perfect shot early.

You may not have gotten an image like Pat's, but I really like the amount of colour and detail that your foreground has. The rich reds of the sand in the foreground is eye-catching and the slight motion blur of the greenery adds an unique element as well.

Love the red sand here Michael. I think the light has not treated you kindly. The only thing I would do to tweak this is to stretch the perspective from the bottom of the frame. This would straighten up the monoliths, which are falling out of the frame, and also lose that shadow in the lower right corner.

Regards John

I don't see anything wrong with this at all..most of the emphasis is on the foreground and the lighting is brilliant.

Excellent work!

Hi Michael, In all fairness, I think this is definately one of the best shots you put up recently. Weird thing is, that I think I notice the "killer stereo thing you commented on when I showed you my cactus pano shot we did together with Tom. (you phrased it differently, though, but I'm sure you know what I'm getting at; it shows in the shrub in the middle, or am I mistaken?)

Having said that, it doen't really bother me as much as the shadow in the lower right.

Other than that, the wide angle and the beautifully saturated and warm tones, the contrasting colours between the orange / red and the green is fantastic.

You owe yourself a bit of leaniency, though. Don't think you did it all wrong... IMO, you nailed this one, and the flaws I see can be easily corrected (On second thought, flaw is better, the stereo view in the shrub is probably my misinterpretation.

Good work.

Cheers,

Hugo

Heck, if there's no interesting clouds in the sky, point the camera down and shoot some interest in the foreground an.... wait a second... that is what you did! :))

I like it. It's nice. Great colours and light.

Also, good job on stitching the there photos together, I know this can be hard sometimes with photos that have a lot of detail, like this one.

Pictures like these are the ones that make me want to get the D70. Great color, nice composition. The shadows add a lot of depth to the picture. Gary.
