Ellen, the Fuji Superai 400 and 800 ISO emulsions are very similar and I often prefer the colour rendering of the 800--the 400 sometimes has a rather dry, dessicated look especially with my very sharp and contrasty rangefinder lenses. But you're right about the better detail. Right, too, about the busy-busy background to the cherry blossoms. Couldn't put it out of focus enough, alas! Next year, maybe?

Wonderful, outstanding colors. Roger you're probably tired of my saying this but I like this film best. It has the most natural color and gives you much better definition in the details. Every minute detail is crisp. You have me curios now as to what your cherry blossom would look like shot with this film. If you have the chance to shoot the cherry blossoms again might I suggest a less busy background. Respectfully, Ellen
