About Subject background: Third in line of my proofs why my neck is out of order these days =)

This time, you see the Flatiron in low light. Unfortunately, the great building has a lot of adverts these days.

PS concept: BW conversion with the channel mixer, mild work on levels.

ich mag die aufgezeigte Möglichkeit des Fisheye Dinge aus Ihrem Größenverhältnis zu reissen und neu zu ordnen...

kommt gut in b&w

ohhhhhhhhhhh.. excellent the perspective to lines that converge! an optimal contrast with the sky and the parts to earth! moreover the "trust and the blow of the flash effect" have created one beautiful formulation of the result!
have a wonderful week end

Hi Hugo,

it was around Xmas. A good friend of mine was there in June and showed me pics where the whole building looks like an add.

I have some older shots which I will post - Flatiron completely nude =)

Hi Thilo, when did you take this one? When I was in NYC in Feb, this building was completely covered, and surrounded by scaffolding. Loe the perspective as well as the toning. It emphasises the eiht very well. Good shot!

Cheers,

Hugo

If you could bring a recliner along, this would be the view. I really like this wide angle.

These buildings are great old designs. There is one on a corner in Cambridge (Boston) that I took some shots of in twilight. (Didn't work out so well)
There is also a nice one of these here in Toronto.
Great shot, just a little off kilter, intentionally I'm sure.

I've been standing on exactly this corner many of times looking at the amazing Flatiron Building.....I've never seen it like this though...almost anorectic...the wonder of a wide angle.....another great shot and great angle from THE city

Hi Thilo! I like how the lamp with signs and the building are almost colliding in the air :) Nice light & tones!

Good composition. The short lens does it again! great angles and the layers of bold signs are just right. The tonality and composition do create a sort of somber statement that is surprising--and effective.

All the best,
--George
