Hansi - the film was scanned this exact way, with the holes on the lower side, because the upper part had a huge disgraceful light leak and this was the only way to get rid of it without cropping. Never intend them to stand as "remains" of a photograph, but it's a interesting way of seeing things.

The reduced palette warm/cold works. Texturally I think both of crayon and acrylic when seeing this treatment. I was about to complain about the sprocket holes (a hang-up with me: I think they are, like emulsion markers etc., a distracting meta-device that is - in general - grossly overused) BUT I also realise they work here as the sole 'remains' of photography in an image that has been taken to the realm of painting. Perhaps they should stay. Yes. :) /H

Imi place asimetria ramei si contrastul cromatic; revine cumva in minte senzatia din seria "insomnia" - si acestea, prin formele naiv conturate, par a se lua la intrecere, care din ele sa ocupe un loc mai important in imagine :) - in fine, eu le personific tocmai din cauza formei abia conturate dar cu petalele foarte "vii".
