Jan I was under the impression that RAW was designed to give a photographer more ability to adjust the shot. I haven't seen in my shots where they are better just as is but you do get a wider range of play. Note to follow.

Thanks Ellen. Appreciate your looking and commenting. It is kind of 3-D - sort of a different kind of photo for me.

Wez - have only taken a few shots with RAW, but I find the colors to be more intense as there are more pixels. Also, all I did with the image was to do a save as in to a TIFF and then a jpg. My challenge is getting the focus right - with my tri-focal eyesight and the view finder bumped up to the strongest magnification I am still struggling. I may just have to stay on auto and jpg for awhile longer until I can get another magnification attachment for my XT. We shall see. At class last night the instructor said that unless you planned to do mega enlargements when printing your photo - or were a pro shooting things for publication - that jpg would produce a quality print and outstanding uploads. He suggested just start working with you camera and playing with different settings to see what was what.

I like it. It has a kind of different look to it 3D almost. Well done Jan.

Is a very interesting shot. How do you find working with RAW images. MY next project is to start learning the technique.
