Very nice portrait shot Judi, great composition. I like the idea of her being behind the grass to add some depth to the photo. Nicely done!

Hi Judi-
Lovely portrait!
I like the cropping, the contrast etc., is perfect. I can't see anything that needs burning or dodging.
Signature ok, but I don't really care for any title inside a picture frame. Try making it in a small light font, or maybe very light gray?
The flower on her cheek is fine, because the viewer knows what it is. The part I find a bit distracting is the one tiny spot on her nose.
My guess is that you shot a bunch in this series where the flower wasn't on her face, but this is the one you liked the best. Picking which one to print is the toughest part.
For this kind of shot I frequently pick flowers or twigs with leaves and hold them fairly close to the lens so they are way out of focus.

Thanks Ameedie. There are more to come. Thanks for your reply earlier....I know what you mean. I am sick as at the moment...have been for a while....but I have to keep going. Have about 10 jobs that I am desperately trying to get finished as well as I am teaching another 2 day course this weekend. I don't know how its going to go as Ricco is sick also....and he is my offsider.

The flowers are not a bother to me but it does seem to break a compositional rule as she is crowding the frame on the right. Rules are meant to be broken, as they say... I did notice that first off and it does ad a feeling of tension or, off balance to the shot.. IMHO
The fact that she is looking back into the frame does help with the ballance

Judi,
The flowers don't bother me, perhaps if she was back maybe another foot or two? Like the contrast of her dark hair and the flower color!!

I know its a small thing...but the thing that completes this shot (for me) is your positioning of the title to the far left. It provides perfect balance to the subject, who is looking that way as well. Exposure and skin tones are spot-on, Judi. Well done.

Hi Judi
I think some of these comments are correct. The model, gorgeous by the way, needs to be more deep in thought, almost distracted by something...more candid perhaps. Maybe in profile..?
Cheers

I love this image it is the synthesis of the spring magic feeling. The girl seems to be part of the "Primavera" herself especially for that flower on her face :)
Kisses for my friend Judi :)

Great portrait Judi. I like the natural setting and the colours are beautiful. The bit of grass in the face doesnt bother me, rather it gives it a more informal, natural feeling. Well done. Joggie
