Here's a shot of Athabasca Glacier in the Columbia Icefields. Every drop of snow on the mountains travels down this glacier at only a few inches per year, eventually reaching the bottom and melting into the river. Glacial silt captured along the way is suspended in the water, giving the river and the region's lakes their milky-green color.
At the moment this shot was taken, there were several people and a full sized BUS on the glacier in plain view. That's how big this really is.
Blaine we went there in 2000 isn't just such an awesome place, and a great shot of it, Excellent detail colour and texture and such good lighting/tones Margaret
