Hi Gayle - this is a nice low-key, so it might not be the best to use as an example in this. But the shadows are clipped, which like I said, may be completely intentional. The under-exposure also may have been done to preserve the highlight detail in the flower. However, going strictly by the histogram, which I have attached, you can see a majority of the toanl range exists in the 3/4 tones, and a significant amount of the shadow detail is being clipped. Again, as I said, this may be intentional, and only coming from a purely technical perspective would this apply.
Cheers, Chris

Nice tribute Gayle. Thanks for the concern. We finally got the word that everyone in my family is okay...houses destroyed by the winds and falling trees, no power, no water and no way to travel except by foot, but they are fine. They were in Covington, Mandeville, Metairie, Gretna and New Orleans Louisiana. We can't just watch the tragedy and not do anything. Thank you for passing the word about all the organizations that can help us to help them. Regards--Bill Voizin

We had the same whishes of Hope, in different colours. :-) It doesn?t matter if the colour is black or white or pink, all need Hope for better days to come. Nice tribute and effort, Gayle.
Hugs, Márcia.

Lovely photo and lovely tribute, Gayle. You're absolutely right - there's a long, long road ahead for the thousands of displaced people who have lost everything! This is a time when *everybody* needs to step up and help as much as they can!

Gayle a wonderful image - and hope must be very hard for so many. It is horrifying just watching our news, almost beyond understanding the true awfulness Margaret
