Exactly! This is a much more interesting photo (at least to me!) I like the more saturated blues as well. The thumbnail really jumps out with the composition this way. Nice!

Perfect Susie, thanks! It's exactly what I needed to know.

Is this close to what you mean about 1/3's...? I've also played around with colour in this one...more bluey

Hi Rina,
I like the idea...have you tried cropping it about 1/4 in on the left? It puts the photo more in balance with 1/3's. You could crop the right as well, but I kind of like having more space for the gull to look out at. Or if you really like the gull in middle I'd crop in pretty severe on both sides and present it as a vertical shot. Just a thought.
The colors are nice and I like the balance of the gull on top and the heavy pier on the bottom. Well seen!

I played around with the position of the pole as I had the same thought as you! But settled for centering it in the end...

Thank you for taking the time to go through my portfolio and leaving so many encouraging comments Ahmed!!

Cheers
Rina

With the initial look I would have thought it might be better to compose the pole to a side. But looking at it again, I think it balances well. I like the silhoutte effect against the blue sky.
