I find portrait photography the most demanding one. I've shot so many portraits but I can choose only maybe five or so to be satisfied with. IMO, the good portrait should tell a story about the person, show his/her personality, wishes, fears, emotions etc. Maybe I need to read couple of books to learn how to emphasise the individual qualities of a person, either by, for example, focusing on something or giving more ligt to one side or any other way. Sometimes when we shoot strangers we see what we want to see, although the truth may be very different. You say you can feel life story and I understand you. But this story can be terrible, or wonderfull, who knows. I assume this man could be fisherman because his skin is hard. People are very very interesting subjects but it's so hard to photograph them.
