Sorry to read you need a cane, Gib. My arthritis flared up a couple of years ago and I was there, too, but it cleared up in answer to prayer... so I zoom with my feet these days. My rock-climbing days are over, though. This is a lovely capture, great atmosphere, and perfect for B&W.
Anthony, thanks for the comment, I liked the foreground because I could make them sharp silhouettes to contrast with the fogged background. Other viewpoint, not really, I'm lurching around with a cane these days and not really able to clamber over rocks and uneven ground the way I used to. It is making me appreciate zoom lenses a whole lot more, I must confess.
I love this sort of atmospheric image in B&W - fine tones and gradations. In this shot my preference would have been to omit the foreground plants, which I think distract. Maybe they were a protected species (haha) or no other viewpoint was possible?
