About I was lucky enough to see this flying machine come into view while I had my camera in hand. The results of my first day at Ming Sha Shan weren't great and I was a bit disappointed in the place (I was there when it was just too hot and bright). However this photo was taken on the second day, and later in the afternoon which made a huge difference in the colours and lighting. Note the hikers going up the right side of the dune.

Exposure Information: 1/400 f10. Polarizer used and some minor PS work to adjust levels and colours.

Stunning capture! Your composition really makes this for me. It looks like your hit that magic hour to help your lighting. Linda

alison.... i've spent a lot of time in very hot places, and the sun in this part of china is burning hot!!!! it's almost unbearable. one of the reasons why, on my first day there, i saw only people riding on camels while i was hiking through the place on foot with my shirt off in mid-day. surely i was quite an oddity out there that day.

Many thanks for commenting on "Nice little corner"
I agree that the passway is quite disturbing, getting closer, the nice shape of the bridge will be missed
This is a small pool of watter

James - great shot from a 'desert rat'. (I still have to upload some dune photos from the Namib 2 share - my favorate landscape destination...).

All your dune shots and rice paddies are great. Honor to have been chosen to 'friend status. Thanks

This is really beautiful James, with the interesting shapes of the dunes and the added intrest of the very colorful contraption flying towards you. Your color is very rich and the shadows are beautiful. I hope those people had alot of water with them. :) Alison
