About This is a view of one of the two spans of Boston's iconic Leonard Zachem Bunker Hill Bridge. It was taken through the open sunroof of my moving car while passing next to the span. I was not driving...

Thank you very much, John. I shot this through the sunroof of my car as the scene passed by (I was not driving!) It was shot shortly before sunset, which helped with the unusual lighting on the cables.

Best regards, Mark

This is a great shot of a bridge that is remarkably similarly to one recently built across the Wisla in the centre of Warsaw. There's a lovely play of lines in the image.

Yes Mark another stunner, I wish I remembered to play more with some of mine, a few that I have tried altering angles etc have been quite successful, but it is harder to 'see' potential in your own stuff, as you tend to see what your eye saw in the first place. It is good for me too, to suddenly see something in other images, and think, bet tht would also look good like ....... You couldn't go wrong with this one, whatever angle, crop or lots os space, they all work. Margaret

Thank you very much Margaret for your interesting suggestion and trial crop. One of the things I like about the original image is the large negative space to the right of the span. It seems to help the abstract aspect of the image, I think. Yet, I like your crop as the image seems more balanced with the span pointing to the corner.

Experimenting with this, I rotated the original image to the right, then recropped to maintain the original aspect, more or less. I like the effect as this preserves the negative space, yet seems a little more balanced. Thanks so much for taking the time to look at this and make this excellent suggestion!

Best regards,
Mark

Mark, Excellent [even more impressive from the moving car] love the lines and the drama. Like
the way lines come up from the bottom corner, I wonder if a tighter crop to make the top point to the opposite corner would add even more punch to this really great composition

Very fine perspective that makes a very dramatic graphic image.

Good work,

Nice shot Mark. I like how you've managed to capture an image unlike every other picture that has been taken of this bridge. Well done...
