About I wish that I would have had better weather and lighting conditions when I took this photo. We had great lighting the day before, but unfortunately it was a little overcast the day that I returned to take my pictures. I think that it would have been so beautiful if I would have had a warm afternoon sun setting on the building.

Thanks for your comment Kathy. I really like the tones and textures too! I added a warm tone with my photo program before posting it, but it sure doesn't make it as nice as the natural sunlight would have. You know that I probably could use a better photo program though. :-) I think that I'm going to get a new lense for my camera first and then maybe upgrade to a better photo shop program like what you and Susie have. Anyway, thanks for your comments! I love the help!

:-) Sheila

Thanks for you comment Mirek. Is is the lighting that makes it so flat? Would the warm sun add the shadows needed to give the picture more depth? I liked the colors and layers of the building, the brick wall and the flowers, but I wasn't sure why it looked so flat. Thanks for your help, it's always appreciated.

I like the angle that you used here, Sheila. It is a bit flat, but the building itself has such great tones and textures. I wonder if applying a warm filter would help. Just a thought.

You are absolutely right. This flat overcast lighting is good for B&W, but doesn't look too flattering in color. Good depth of field control, but the shot itself a bit boring. I am sure a strong golden hour lighting would make a lot of difference
