Thank You Janice, The magenta flower is a Black Knight Buddleia (Butterfly Bush). I have incorperated four different Buddleia in my butterfly garden. They seem to do the trick. I also grow two varieties of Lantana, flat leaf parsley, Dill, and Butterfly weed for them. I appreciate your visiting and taking the time to comment., Best Regards, Ceceiia
Great Capture! We have had a few of these at our lantana the last few days, but they are really moving quickly and do not appear to be as beautifully colored at this little one. In Aug. 2000 our 6'-8' diameter and about 4' high in full bloom fiesta lantana bush had so many of these painted ladies on it you almost couldn't see the flowers. What a sight that was. Caught a few good shots with my little cybershot, but nothing like this one. The DOF sets off the butterfly so nicely, the magenta colored flowers are a nice contrast to the butterfly and backgroun. Also, like the way you framed it. Well done. Jan
