Now, I understand. I thought that maybe some wax is used to protect the contact with developer or some tape. It's simple and clear. I go for rough file in my garage. By :-)

If you have an iron or plastic masking-band you can file the edges to get these frayed and unregular edges. this makes your frame as your personal one. this is an unicum. there would be no other frame looks like yours ;)

Thanks for your time and response, but I don't understand how you can do that. Yes I can easily do black frame around my print, but it's outer brim is straight becaus my masking-frame has straight edges. You have to have special mask frame for this or other trick (pls. tell me the secret). Jiri

Hi Jiri, the frame is on the baryt. I made it in my darkroom with my enlarger. the dark frame ist from the negative and the edge from the filed negativeholder. No ps, just handcraft :)
best regards

Hi,Joern Great image. I saw similar one in colour which won the Agfa photo competition recently. Pls. could you tell me the secret how do you create that atractive frame around the picture. Is this frame visible on your barytprint, or is it artificially created in Photoshop. In case that it's visible also on the barytprint - how do you do that ? Thanks in advance, Jiri
