Great capture of the delicate outer surface of the Lantern Alison! Colours are bright and vivid and well saturated and the composition about perfect... One question though... Did you try the fruit inside it?

The contrast of the orange against that aqua is pretty cool - almost looks like it's floating in water (glass table top, right?) I like all the intricate little veins running through it!

Great shot! I've always known them as Japanese Lanterns. I have a bunch of them in my yard. They spread like wildfire, so watch out! Beautiful presentation. I love the orange against that blue.

Its called a chinese lantern.(physalis franchetti). This is one of my favorite perennials! Inside the pod, if picked while fresh, is a sort of cherry, that you can actually eat! Theyre beautiful, arnt they? You can also dry them out to use in floral arrangement/wreaths etc. They spread on their own, and multiply quickly! This image is beautiful, i love the color! The red on blue is a pleasant clash of hues. Very bright and cheerful! Thank you for your comments!
Corrie
