About This was the only berry left on this tree and it happened to be smack in the middle of this leaf, I desaturated the leaf to accentuate the berry.

Thank you for the comment Kim, I wanted a stark difference, I think I did try a little color but it was not a very pretty leaf, it had a lot of spots on it so the B/W worked better. Alison

The red on black is certainly eye catching! I had to open the thumbnail to see why the leaf was black! It's quite a stark change... have you tried desaturating the leaf, but still leaving a touch of colour? It might not have the impact you're going for.
Great placement of the leaf and the berry in the frame!

Excellent idea Alison! You did well to spot the berry and see the potential of this and then you made an superb image by manipulating it. Desaturating that leaf is a masterstroke and really helps bring the berry into play as the subject. Love the details and textures you captured here too.
