Good crop, good balance, but I would have liked more of the road in the composition by tilting the camera down several degrees. Nicely done, though.

Chuck, I've had you on my "friends" list for a long time, and have always loved your work. I always get so much more out of your work, because you take the time to provide interesting information about the shot. I was in Georgia/Alabama a couple of weeks ago, and when I travelled the back roads, what I saw was Chuck Freeman. What else can I say?

Hey Chuck, once again you have captured the feel of the south, I can almost taste the dust from the road, it is great to see you continuing to document these old places I comend you on your work.

I will be back over in GA in late September and look forward as ever to the visit, I have a mind to photograph some of those old breakfast cafe's that fast seem to be dissapearing from the small towns, I wish I could spend more time in the US as there is just so much to work with.

Chuck, I can see the whole tradition of southern photographers in your work. You are carrying on the great tradition on William Chistenberry and Walker Evans...but with your own personal vision...great stuff.
My father is from the south, North Carolina, and your images take me back to the road trips there from southern California in the late 50's/early 60's...again exceptional portfolio.You also add a great hisorical touch with your commentay. The older photo's with the notes on film, print size and paper add great significance to older photographers (not that we are that old) that learned the craft during many hours in the dark, thanks for the memories.

This is what photography is all about. Preserving things because the original is too good to be destroyed. I'm sure that was your theme when taking this picture.

Yeah, this is superb. Nice vision. Old time buildings are what I love to shoot the most. All the texture and detail. The color here is great. Very warm and old. Makes me want to walk in and have a soda and sit by the fire and talk about old times with the gents. james

Wonderful use of the rule of thirds. The soft colors makes this image a timeless one. Keep up the great work! I may suggest a smaller f-stop. This image would be enhanced with hyperfocusing, but this is still a remarkable image! I can't wait to see more.
