They look like they could pop out of my monitor and touch me in the face. There is a 3D like effect here. Great.

Not sure about the joke, but I like this shot, Chris. Very nicely done.

Technical question: Did you glue the butterfly in that position? I find I get my best results that way.

Hi Riny,
I went to your portfolio and was sorry to find that you had emptied it of all your photo's. Obviously you had your reasons, which I fully respect, but hopefully we shall see some more of your work in due course.
My best regards, Chris

You're right, Roger. This is the underside of a Red Admiral's wings. Quite different from the design on the top, with that vivid triangle of red standing out a mile!
Best regards, Chris

Hi Kathy,
The 'Admiral's Cup' is an important trophy in yachting circles and my pictures shows a (Red) Admiral butterfly sipping nectar from a floral cup ~ hence, 'The Admiral's Cup'!!

Those are very strange markings on the Admiral's wings, Chris. Is that what the underside of their wings looks like? I've not seen many butterflies of this kind and certainly none like this. Beautiful capture; I'll "pass" on the frame...

very colourful - the butterfly gives it a feeling of rotation to me - like pouring water into a water wheel to get it going

Neat buttie!!! Wonderful colors and excellent clarity, DOF and composition... well done!!! It's a nice, quiet shot... LOL!!! One small thing though: I'm not too sure about the (inner) frame... if than smaller so you don't 'cut that flower bud in two' and I would prefer it 'even Steven'... but that's me, gaga... oops still suffering from the deo side effects... ;-D!!!
