Actually it was the Pentax 645, I was considering. I will be interested in seeing how you like it. Maybe if I win a lottery or sell ALOT of pics, I'll buy the digital version coming out next year. Now that I have switched to the D70, I really like having control of my work from start to finish. BTW I just posted a new image using a variation on the "Orton" technique. I'd love your opinion.

Ha, yes, i did! I know, i know, just a few weeks ago i was thinking of going digital...but i didnt think i could afford it yet. But then my friend was selling her medium format pentax 645...and i couldnt resist. Ive looked around ebay too, looks like theyre getting cheaper everywhere because everyone is going digital!! So nows the time to go with mf if you want to!
Mine came with a 75mm lense, a 120 back as well as a 220.
I havnt actually gotten my first rolls of film back yet, im going this afternoon to pick it up, and i definately will post something, im so giddy! Now i have to look for a bigger neg scanner though..mine only does 35mm. :(

I have the same problem (with lines), and I am so glad my Nikons all have grids as an option. They really do help. You bought an MF????? I have often thought of doing the same, and may still do so when my D70 is paid off, and I upgrade my printer, and I get Photoshop CS, etc., etc, .......

Thanks Richard-I actually did a few with greater depth of feild, and they turned out great, but i messed up the lines(they werent very cemetrical at all...) so i posted this one instead. I have a hard time with lines-im really glad my new medium format camera came with a focusing screen thats a grid, as well as the standard one, i think it should help!

This is really good. I love the textures, and the composition. Maybe (not sure) I would have stopped down the aperture to f5.6 to get all of the wood sharp, although the softening of the focus towards the upper edge is effective too.
Congrats.

like how the border adds a sense of 3d to the shot. Keep on hearing Iris Demint in this.

I still use one of these a lot! Can't beat an old iron skillet to fry chicken or make roux for gumbo. Cool idea.
