hi, i think this is another strong shot of a traditional market in Cairo...i think technically it needed some tweakings, croppings to give more clarity to the shop keeper and shop...hope you don't mind, but just wanted to show you a version with some straightening and a slight boost in saturation (on the weak level setting) regards, gayle

Fabulous documentary image - what I find striking here is the conditions in the shop and how little the owner has to sell. This could equally be in any other North African country. Great shot, though because the doorway is in the picture I would prefer it lined up (or cropped out).
Incidentally, I appreciate and support your subsequent comment on North Africa and the Middle East.

Dear Mohamed, Yes I agree but as you said this is more traditional and I don't see this in any way a negative image. It's part of the daily life of some Egyptians who shop there. I happen to be a very big fan of Egypt and it's people and have visited numerous times. I think, from what i hear on the media here (in the US), that it's time for people from this country to learn more about the people from North Africa and the Middle East because it seems like they know very little I'm sad to say. Maybe if they understood more there'd be far fewer problems in the world today. All the best, Mark

this type of shops in the centeral market of the popular places in cairo give a very traditional image of what was cairo from 50 years, ago, and still they are in some areas.. but in the most of cities in egypt now u can find many of international hyper markets, ( carrefoure, spinys and many )
